Gary Silverberg was Wendy's lawyer/former lover in the pilot episode of the series. After Wendy reveals to him about the situation her and Marty are in, Gary advises that she empties the accounts to get as much as she can. Del finds Gary's apartment and beats him. At some point before this, Marty hired a private investigator to spy on Wendy and Gary. After his private investigator tells him where Gary lives, Marty angrily drives to the apartment and Gary is thrown off of his balcony. In the second episode, Marty tells Wendy how the sound of her lover smacking the pavement is the only thing that helps him sleep at night
